The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for fresh admissions to the January 2024 session till March 20. Candidates will now have an extra 10 days to register for the programmes if they intend to apply for the January 2024 session that will be offered online and through distance learning. Interested candidates can apply via the official website of IGNOU at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

The registration process was originally scheduled to end on January 29 but was extended until February 15, 2023. After this, the university extended the deadline for students to complete the registration process to March 10, 2024. As per the latest update, candidates now have until March 20, 2024, to apply for online distance learning and online programmes.

“The last date for “Fresh Admission” for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for the January 2024 session has been extended till 20th March 2024. ODL- http://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, ONLINE- http://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in,” the official handle of IGNOU posted on X (formally Twitter).

After confirming their admission, eligible and interested candidates can apply for government scholarships through the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in. IGNOU also extended the “re-registration” deadline for all programmes offered in ODL/online mode for the January 2024 session to March 20, 2024, with a Rs 200 late fee.

IGNOU Fresh Admission January 2024 Session: Steps To Apply

Step 1: Visit IGNOU’s official website at ignou.ac.in

Step 2: On the homepage, search and click on the ‘Register Online’ section followed by the ‘Fresh Admissions’ link.

Step 3: Then click on the ‘New Registration’ tab.

Step 4: As a new window opens, fill out all the mandatory details. Also, set a ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ to register.

Step 5: Fill out all the required information in the form and upload the scanned documents.

Step 6: Select the programme you want to take.

Step 7: Before submitting the IGNOU registration form, check all the details.

IGNOU Fresh Admission January 2024 Session: Documents Needed

– Scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph (less than 100 KB)

– Scanned copy of candidate’s signature (less than 100 KB)

– Scanned copy of relevant educational qualification (less than 200 KB)

– Scanned copy of experience certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)

– Scanned copy of category certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB).
