The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for IGNOU January Session Admissions 2023 till March 27, 2023. Interested candidates who are yet to register can do the same on the official website – ignou.ac.in.
The university released an official notice on its website, announcing the extension. “The last date for Re-Registration, Fresh Admission for Online and ODL Programmes, Merit based ODL Programmes for January 2023 Session is extended till 27th March 2023 without late fees,” read the official notice. The university also notified that post the registration deadline, the re-registrations with a late fee of Rs 200 shall continue as earlier.
Interested candidates may note that while registering for a fresh course for the IGNOU January 2023 Session, they should always read the detailed instructions on the official website carefully.

Also, the IGNOU has also notified on its website that “In a particular admission cycle, facility for fee exemption available to SC/ST students can be claimed for one programme only. If an applicant submits more than one application claiming fee exemption, all the applications shall be rejected.”
Moreover, at the time of registration, candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee along with the programme fee for first year/semester, for the specific programme a candidate wishes to enroll in. In case of cancellation/withdrawal of registrations/applications, the request for the refund of registration fee shall be processed as per university policies. - Visit the official IGNOU website – ignou.ac.in
- On the homepage, click on ‘Fresh Admission’ from the drop down menu under the ‘Register Online’ tab
- Click on ‘New registration’
- Login to the portal again and fill in the application form with all required details
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form
- Download the application confirmation page for reference
