In a jaw-dropping moment captured on video, a skier at a US ski resort narrowly escaped a close encounter with a bear as it unexpectedly darted across the slopes.
This incident happened at Lake Tahoe, a popular year-round destination located on the border of California and Nevada. In the video caught on camera, one of the skiers can be heard saying, “holy f***,” after the bear bypasses him.
Social media users couldn’t resist adding their funny take on the situation. One of the Insta users said “Bear was after something else. Chasing his misus maybe.”
“Oh, man! If the skier bumped into the bear, he would’ve gotten away with a ‘hug-and-run’ with no harm,” another one said. Yet another person wrote: “This is the territory of wild animals; people are just guests there.” “That was close. I couldn’t bear to watch,” commented another.
As the video circulates online, it serves as a reminder that even in the snowy haven of Lake Tahoe, the unexpected – and the wild – can make their presence felt on the slopes.
This incident marks the second bear sighting in recent weeks, adding a wild twist to the winter sports season, US-based NBC reported. Over the weekend, three bears were also caught on camera strolling through the snow directly beneath a ski lift.
