A year before the assembly elections, the genie of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has also come out in Haryana. Because of OPS, BJP lost power in Himachal Pradesh. The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), which is an ally in the BJP government in Haryana, is most worried about this. The stand of BJP is clear that instead of OPS, it is adamant on National Pension Scheme (NPS).

Seeing this, the employees in Haryana have made preparations to come on the streets. In view of this, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala from JJP has raised the demand for OPS and cleared his position in front of the employees. Due to this, the problem of Haryana BJP has also increased.

After the implementation of the old pension scheme by the new Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, the employees in Haryana have given the government an ultimatum till April 25 to implement the OPS.

Decision on OPS in Haryana is not easy for BJP
If BJP takes any major decision regarding OPS or NPS in Haryana, it will put pressure on the governments of other BJP ruled states as well. There are 15 such states in the country where the governments of the BJP and its allies are at present. In such a situation, the workers in these states will intensify the demand regarding OPS, due to which difficulties may arise for the BJP in the coming elections.

Seeing 2.85 lakh employees, JJP had to bet
There are about 2.85 lakh employees in Haryana and almost the same number of pensioners. Recently Himachal Pradesh elections OPS issue has played a big role. Jairam Thakur, who himself was the CM there, met PM Narendra Modi and blamed the defeat on OPS. In such a situation, JJP also started worrying about its political success. Since after Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Congress implemented OPS in Himachal as soon as it came to power, so the employees can go with Congress. Seeing this, JJP has already played the stake.

Anti-incumbency wave also worries JJP
There is another reason for the changed attitude of JJP. JJP may be with BJP since 2019 but BJP is in power in Haryana for eight years. In 2014, BJP formed the government with absolute majority. In such a situation, JJP is also feeling the danger of anti-incumbency wave. Regarding which JJP has started clearing its position.

Employees will hit the streets from April
The employees of Haryana have given an ultimatum till April 25 to the union government regarding the demand of OPS. To make the movement successful, the employees’ organizations in Haryana have prepared a Reach to Reach plan. In 2023, all employee organizations will work on this plan from January to August. During this, conferences will be organized across the state. In September, all the employee organizations will mobilize and march to Delhi read full news
