Fugitive Simarjit Bains surrenders in rape case: Former Ludhiana MLA reaches court by hiding his face; bail applications rejected

Fugitive in the rape case, former MLA of Ludhiana city of Punjab and Lok Insaaf Party chief Simarjit Singh Bains surrendered in the court today. Along with Bains, his other brothers Paramjit Singh Pamma, Pradeep Sharma Gogi, Baljinder Kaur and Jasbir Kaur alias Bhabhi have also surrendered. In this way now all the six accused are under the arrest of the police.

Earlier, the bail applications of Siramjit Bains were rejected by the Ludhiana District Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Bains also did not get relief from the Supreme Court, after which Bains was left with only two ways to escape or surrender. Now the Ludhiana Police is reaching the court to take the remand of Bains. After taking the remand, Bains will be questioned in the rape case.

Bains came inside by hiding his face from the back gate of the court

The police has already arrested Bains’ brother Karmjit Bains. Today morning at 10.30, Simarjit Singh Bains also entered the court through the back way in the district court. He was accompanied by his family members and supporters, Sunny Kainth etc. Bains had tied a cloth over his mouth. Going to the judge sahib, Bains removed the cloth from his mouth.

Let us inform that the Ludhiana Police has proved to be incapable of catching Bains. Even after being declared a fugitive, Bains was continuously active on social media. Sources also tell that somewhere political pressure is coming on the police, due to which the police used to shy away from putting their hands on Bains, but he himself came to the fore when the screws were tightened.

Was declared a fugitive for not appearing in court

Case is going on in Ludhiana court against Simarjit Bains. A rape case was registered against Bains on July 10, 2021, but Bains did not appear in the court hearing. Therefore, the Ludhiana court declared Bains and his associates Paramjit Singh Bains, Pradeep Kumar Gogi, Baljinder Kaur and Jasbir Kaur as absconders. The police had also put up posters of everyone’s wanted in the city.

Bains’s real brother and PA arrested earlier

Bains’ brother Karmjit Bains was caught by the police from his factory on July 2. The second accused PA Sukhchain Singh was caught from Malerkotla on the behest of Karmjeet Bains. In the arrest of Karmjeet Bains, the victim woman got her location traced as soon as she came to know that the mobile was on. Today the rest of the accused in the rape case also surrendered in the court.

The complaint of rape was given in November 2020

On 16 November 2020, the woman had given a complaint of rape to the police commissioner against MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains, Kamaljit Singh, Baljinder Kaur, Jasbir Kaur alias Bhabhi, Sukhchain Singh, Paramjit Singh alias Pamma and Gogi Sharma. She alleged that MLA Bains physically abused her in lieu of settling the house’s money transactions. When the police did not take any action on the complaint of the victim and hanging the case in the name of investigation, the victim woman took refuge in the court.

Case was registered on 7th July 2021

On 7 July 2021, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Harsimran Jeet Singh ordered the police station division number 6 to register an FIR. MLA Bains challenged these orders in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, but the High Court dismissed his petition and an FIR was registered against him in the police station.

The woman, who accused MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, has been sitting on a dharna outside the Police Commissioner’s office for the past one year. Earlier she was demanding registration of a criminal case against the MLA and now arrest. He complained a year ago, the police did not listen, so he approached the court.
