Four More Towns To Getring Roads, Says Minister | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: State road construction minister Nitin Nabin said in the assembly on Thursday that four cities other than Patna will also have ring roads and eight bypass roads will be constructed in the next five years to ease traffic load in various towns.
The cities other than Patna which will have ring roads are Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Bhagalpur.
“The DMs concerned have been asked to submit detailed reports on the land to be acquired for the construction of ring roads and eight bypass roads,” Nabin said, adding the money required will be shared by the central and state governments.
The minister said this as part of the government’s reply to the House debate on budgetary demand of his department for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
The cut motion had been moved by RJD member Lalit Kumar Yadav. While the opposition members walked out of the House, the budgetary demand was passed by voice vote.
The eight bypass roads to be constructed under the ‘Saat Nishchay (seven resolves)’ programme of the government will entail an expenditure of Rs 143 crore, which has already been sanctioned, the minister said. The bypass roads will be constructed at Kurtha in Arwal district, Kateya in Gopalganj, from Ramashish Chowk to Dighi in Vaishali district, Sherghati Bazaar in Gaya, from Araut to Kornama in Nalanda, from NH-30 via Vigrahpur to Karbigahiya agriculture institute campus in Patna, from NH-81 to NH-31 in Katihar and from Jariso Chowk to Bishunpur-Benipur via Brmajha Pokhar in Darbhanga.
Nabin said through loans raised from Asian Development Bank (ADB), 1,683km of roads have already been constructed. Further, Rs 2,727.43 crore worth of loan has been procured from ADB for the construction of around 286km of state highways, he added.
