Former AAP MLA ‘trapped’ in scam: Used Innova bought with money from forest land scam; Registration rejected after vigilance check

Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amarjit Sandoha has been implicated in the land scam in Punjab. His Innova car was bought with the money of the scam in Karuran village of Ropar. After its disclosure in the Vigilance investigation, the SDM has confiscated the registration of Innova. However, the former MLA has termed it as a political conspiracy. At the same time, Congress has surrounded AAP and demanded action against former MLA Sandoha to CM Bhagwant Mann.

Scam was exposed 2 months ago
Vigilance had exposed the scam of selling forest department’s land in Ropar at a rate ten times higher than the collector rate two months ago. In this investigation, it was found that the Innova Crysta vehicle that the former MLA has been using for the last one year has been bought with scam money. This car was bought by a relative of Sandoha. This amount was directly transferred from the account of the accused of the scam to the account of the car dealer. After which this car was bought.

Before this Innova vehicle, AAP MLAs have come into controversy. Its registration has now been forfeited. The MLA says that his father-in-law had given this vehicle for use.

Vigilance caught ‘money trail’ like this
When Vigilance checked the bank accounts, it was found that Bhinder Brothers, named in this scam, deposited Rs 2 crore in the account of a woman from Jalandhar. The woman put some of this amount in the account of her husband Barinder Kumar. Barinder transferred Rs 19 lakh to a car dealer’s account on 16 October 2020. Instead, the Innova Crysta vehicle was bought. The registration of the car was done in the name of Mohan Singh of village Ghadaspur. Mohan Singh is the father-in-law of former AAP MLA Sandoha.

Sandoha said – the conspiracy of the opponents
Former MLA Amarjeet Sandoha said that all this is a conspiracy of the opponents. He is innocent. He has told everything about this to CM Bhagwant Mann on Friday itself. The Innova car was given to him by his father-in-law to use. He never asked about the source of income of father-in-law. Her in-laws family had helped her in setting up the business earlier as well.

Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira has challenged CM Mann to take action.

Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira said that now he sees what action CM Bhagwant Mann takes against the former MLA of his party. Amarjeet Sandoha bought the car with the money given by the tainted officer of the forest scam. If there is no action, then CM Mann is targeting only his political opponents.
