First batch of Amarnath Yatra left this morning: 2189 pilgrims got token for Baltal route on first day, journey will last for 62 days

Baba Amarnath Yatra is starting from 1st July. The devotees left in the first batch on the morning of June 30 and will have darshan of Baba Barfani on the afternoon of July 1. The Yatra lasting 62 days will be the longest this time due to the two months of Sawan.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha arrived at Jammu base camp to launch the first batch of Amarnath Yatra. Here he flagged off.

On the first day, a total of 2189 pilgrims were issued tokens for the Baltal route. Immediate registration of 135 pilgrims for the Baltal route was done at the Panchayat Bhawan Registration Center.

Easy road from Baltal, 10 km wide road
The short route to Baltal has been developed a lot this time. With the construction of 11 km road on the 16 km route, the road has become easier. Although the 5 km road is still narrow. Travel security is divided into five layers. ITBP is on the front for the first time near the cave. The weather has started changing from the evening of 29th June. It is possible that the first batch of devotees may be greeted by rain.

From sim to warm clothes and raincoat everything is available
The good news for the devotees is that in Baltal itself one can buy a sim with a validity of one month for Rs.350 to 550. It also turns on immediately. Raincoats, umbrellas along with warm clothes and trekking accessories are all available around the langar. Tents for stay will also be available for Rs.500 per day.

The work of langar-tents on the yatra route had started from June 10. The langar people told that then there was 3 meter high snow. Could anchor only after removing the ice.

This time langar will not be available from Sangam to Gufa
Last year, anchors were installed in 16 km from Baltal to Gufa. But, the accident happened due to cloudburst. This time langar has been allowed from Baltal to Sangam only. There will be no langar in 4 km from Sangam to Gufa.

Junk-fried food, tobacco products banned
This time there will be a ban on sale of tobacco products and junk or fried food at all the stops. There are 120 langars on both the routes. It will be mandatory for passengers to wear helmets on the 2.5 km high-risk route. You will get these free of cost.

For the yatra, after coming to Srinagar, one has to take a cab to reach the base camp Baltal which is 98 km away. Onspot registration has started in Jammu.

800 meters from Baltal. Asphalt road has been made. Next 2 km is paver block road till Domel. From there till Barari there is 8 km kutcha road. Although it has been widened. Beyond this is a steep ascent with a 5 km slope. The road work is going on till the cave.
