Baekhyun’s performance is scheduled for March 21, 2024, on the day of the match between the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
Korean boyband EXO’s member, Baekhyun, is set to perform at the opening of the MLB World Tour Seoul Series 2024. Scheduled to sing both the Korean and American National Anthems, the artist’s participation has drawn widespread anticipation, attracting attention from South Korean officials, celebrities, and the general public alike. The MLB World Tour Seoul Series 2024 opening ceremony, set to take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, marks the first time the American Professional Baseball Major League regular season will be held in South Korea. Baekhyun’s performance is scheduled for March 21, 2024, on the day of the match between the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
“Baekhyun will be participating in the 2024 MLB World Tour: Seoul Series, the season opener of Major League Baseball (MLB). Baekhyun will be singing the Korean national anthem and the national anthem of the United States without accompaniment at the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on March 21,” confirmed Baekhyun’s agency INB100, as reported by Soompi.
This isn’t Baekhyun’s first experience singing national anthems, having previously performed at the National Soccer Tryout match in 2014 and the IOC opening ceremony in 2018.
In 2023, he also impressed audiences with a performance of the song Paranoia alongside HEARTSTEEL at the League of Legends World Championship Opening Ceremony.
Baekhyun’s recent announcement of his departure from SM Entertainment to establish his own agency, INB100, has sparked interest in his future endeavours. Despite this, he remains committed to EXO, continuing to participate in group activities through SM Entertainment. Fellow EXO members Chen and Xiumin have also joined his agency for future solo pursuits.
Looking ahead, Baekhyun is gearing up for his inaugural solo Asia tour in 2024, with the concert series commencing on March 16 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea.
Baekhyun expressed his excitement about the upcoming performance, saying, “I am honored to have been selected to perform at such a prestigious event. Singing the national anthems of both Korea and the United States is a significant moment for me, and I will do my best to deliver a memorable performance,” informs Soompi.
In addition to his solo activities, Baekhyun is also working on new music, with plans to release a new album later this year.
