On Thursday, the ED raided the house of another close aide of former minister Partha Chatterjee, accused in West Bengal’s famous teacher recruitment scam. The investigating agency started the operation by breaking the lock of an apartment in South Kolkata. The ED is searching the Fort Osis Complex flat since 12:30.

In the teacher recruitment scam, since July 23, a total of 11 locations of Partha Chatterjee, Arpita Mukherjee, former minister Paresh Adhikari and MLA Manik Bhattacharya have been raided. At the same time, about Rs 50 crore in cash has been recovered in raids on the premises related to Arpita. The investigation agency claims that this amount has been earned in the teacher recruitment scam.

On Wednesday, in a special court in Kolkata, a demand was made to send Parth and Arpita to ED custody. After this, both were sent to the custody of the investigating agency till August 5. The ED had told the court that Parth was not cooperating in the investigation.

Arpita's house was raided by the ED on July 23 and July 27.  The ED action lasted for 26 hours on the first day and 18 hours on the second day.

Raids on 6 locations on Tuesday
Earlier on Tuesday, ED had raided 6 properties belonging to Parth and Arpita. At the same time, on Monday, a raid was conducted at Arpita Mukherjee’s flat in Belgharia. The same flat was raided by the ED on July 27, in which about Rs 28 crore in cash was found.

In this raid that lasted for 18 hours, the ED team also recovered 5 kg of gold. After getting so much money from the flat, Arpita had confessed for the first time that all the money belonged to Partha Chatterjee.
