New Delhi: Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s teaser for Dunki, his third movie of the year, ever since the actor announced it. Shah Rukh and renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani are working together for the first time on this movie, which raises fans’ anticipation even higher. Keeping up their promise of releasing the much-anticipated film’s teaser on SRK’s 58th birthday, the makers have finally released it on the occasion.
Sharing the teaser on social media, SRK wrote, “A story of simple and real people trying to fulfill their dreams and desires. Of friendship, love, and being together… Of being in a relationship called Home! A heartwarming story by a heartwarming storyteller. It’s an honour to be a part of this journey and I hope you all come along with us. The #DunkiDrop1 is here…”

The DUNKI DROP 1 unveiled today, gives a glimpse into the wonderful world of Rajkumar Hirani. It’s a heart-warming tale of four friends and their quest to reach foreign shores, it charts the arduous yet life changing journey they are about to undertake to make their dreams come true. Drawn from real-life Experiences, Dunki is a saga of love and friendship that brings together these wildly disparate stories, and provides hilarious and heart-breaking answers.
The video takes you on a whirlwind roller-coaster with colourful characters portrayed by an exceptionally talented ensemble cast that includes, Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, starring along with Shah Rukh Khan.
It also gives a glimpse into an enchanting, heart-warming and a unique tale that marks the return of storytelling to cinema.
The Hindi-language comedy-drama ‘Dunki’ is based on the “Donkey Flight” method of illegal immigration. Rajkumar Hirani, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon, is the director. It is a joint production of Red Chillies Entertainment and Jio Studios and stars Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza, and Shah Rukh Khan.
In April 2023, the movie was completed. Filming was done in London, Budapest, Jeddah, Mumbai, Kashmir, and Neom. Pritam has composed the music for the film, touted to be a social comedy. Hirani handled the editing, while C K Muraleedharan handled the cinematography.
Dunki is all set to release in theatres worldwide on December 22, ahead of Christmas.
