It is becoming increasingly evident that the Russian forces are trying to consolidate their position in Ukraine’s eastern region. While Kyiv was one of the first targets when the war began 100 days ago, now the Russians are approaching their second phase’s target of full control over the Donbas region and southern Ukraine, which is adjoining Crimea.
