In Joshimath, Uttarakhand, the work of demolishing the buildings which were tilted due to land subsidence is going on. Today PWD guest house was demolished with the help of JCB. So far 849 buildings have developed cracks in this area. People are scared. 250 families had to leave their homes and shift to other places. At the same time, CM Dhami says that 65 to 70% people in Joshimath are leading a normal life.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. After the meeting, Dhami said that 65 to 70% people in Joshimath are doing their work normally, but some people are spreading rumors about it. Such rumors are not good for the country either. Auli is still a tourist destination in Uttarakhand, where people are continuously coming to visit.

Dhami said – Chardham Yatra will start in next 3-4 months
CM Dhami told that he has informed the Home Minister about the current situation in Joshimath. This meeting lasted for about half an hour in the Ministry of Home Affairs. After meeting Shah, Dhami said that the Char Dham Yatra would start in the next 3 to 4 months. He told that Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham are included in the Char Dham.

Amit Shah assured financial help
Dhami briefed the Home Minister about the situation in Joshimath and the work being done to rescue the people. New places are being looked for for the victims of Joshimath, it has also been discussed. CM Dhami said that the Home Minister has assured financial assistance. Dhami was asked whether any report has been submitted to Amit Shah regarding Joshimath, to which the CM said that when the final report comes, it will be given to the Centre.

Cracks have appeared in 849 houses in Joshimath, whose residents will now be helped with Rs 1.5 lakh. 50 thousand rupees will be given for shifting and one lakh rupees will be given as advance of compensation. What will be the final compensation, it will be decided later. So far 250 families have been shifted to safer places. A temporary relief camp of 615 rooms has been set up, where the victims have been kept.

Joshimath divided into three zones
The state government has divided Joshimath into three zones – Danger, Buffer and Safe. There are houses in the danger zone which are very dilapidated and not fit for living. Such houses will be demolished manually, whereas in the safe zone there are houses which have minor cracks and are less prone to collapse. The houses in the buffer zone are those which have minor cracks but are prone to crack growth. A team of experts has recommended the demolition of houses with cracks.

Cracks have appeared in 23 more houses in Joshimath. Till Tuesday, the survey team has cross marked 849 houses with cracks. Of these, 155 private buildings and 10 commercial establishments have been considered completely unsafe. Of the displaced families, 58 have come to live in rented houses.
