The tussle between the government and the lieutenant governor in Delhi is not taking its name. All the ministers of the Delhi government have written letters to the secretaries of their departments, instructing them not to follow the direct orders received from the Lieutenant Governor (LG), inform the minister in charge. Strictly follow the Transaction of Business Rules (TBR).

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said- LG is violating TBR and rules 49 and 50 of the Supreme Court judgment by issuing orders directly to secretaries. Implementation of such illegal direct orders of LG would amount to violation of Rule 57 of TBR. LG’s giving direct orders to the departments is in violation of the Constitution and the directions of the Supreme Court.

After meeting LG, Kejriwal had said- I had taken the books of many laws including the Constitution of the country, GNCT Act.

Kejriwal came to meet LG last month with the book of law
Last month, the issue of stopping teachers from going to Finland for training in Delhi had become politicised. CM Arvind Kejriwal had reached Delhi’s LG VK Saxena with a law book. After meeting LG, Arvind Kejriwal said that we want to work together.

After meeting the LG, Kejriwal said that for the last few months, we are seeing that his interference in the works of the Delhi government is increasing. Due to this, the work of the people of Delhi is not being done. Had gone to meet the Lieutenant Governor today regarding this. I had taken books of many laws including the country’s constitution, GNCT Act.

Kejriwal had said – what LG is doing is unconstitutional
Kejriwal had said that the law says that police, law and land are the subjects of the Lieutenant Governor and the rest is with the elected government. The order of the constitution bench of the Supreme Court says that the Lieutenant Governor has no right to decide on transfer matters.

This means that the Lieutenant Governor sealed Jasmine Shah’s office, made Alderman, Presiding Officer, ordered recovery of 164 crores, stopped teachers from going to Finland, all that is unconstitutional.

On the other hand, the office of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena has said that during the meeting with me by CM Kejriwal, all the things said by me including the Supreme Court are fabricated and I have not said anything like that.

Kejriwal had said – LG scolds more than wife

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal continues to target Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Last year he had tweeted – My wife does not scold me as much as LG scolds me everyday. LG has written more love letters to me in the last 6 months than even my wife has written in her entire life.

Kejriwal had said – LG sir, chill a little
Arvind Kejriwal further wrote – LG sir, chill a little and also tell your super boss to chill a little. Kejriwal is constantly alleging that the LG is working on the instructions of the Center and is obstructing the work of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi.

Kejriwal angry on this letter from LG
A few days back, LG VK Saxena wrote a letter to Kejriwal. In this, the LG had expressed displeasure over the fact that Kejriwal or any minister of his government did not go to Raj Ghat or Vijay Ghat on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. LG called it a violation of protocol.

It was written in the letter that such programs are organized by the Delhi government. The invitation letter sent to the guests of the program goes in the name of the Chief Minister of Delhi. In such a situation, it is wrong for the CM or any minister not to visit the mausoleums of Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Liquor policy scam major reason for dispute between Kejriwal and Saxena
Alleging a scam in Delhi’s liquor policy, LG VK Saxena had recommended a CBI inquiry into it. The CBI had searched the house and bank locker of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. A case of money laundering was also registered in this case and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided 40 places in 6 states simultaneously.

Liquor policy was implemented from August 1
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had announced on 1 August 2022 that the old liquor policy would come into force. He called a press conference and said that the Center has made the entry of CBI in this policy, due to which no one is ready to take the contract. That’s why we will not implement the new system.

The Deputy CM had said that BJP’s corruption would end with the new excise policy and revenue of Rs 9,500 crore would come in a year. Presently 468 liquor shops are running in Delhi. The aim of the BJP is that illegal liquor should be sold in Delhi.
