Defense Advisory Committee meeting was held in Parliament House on Monday. The meeting was presided over by Defense Minister Rajnath, in which 12 opposition MPs including 4 BJP MPs attended. In the meeting, opposition MPs demanded the withdrawal of the scheme or its change. The MPs said that unemployment is the reason for the large number of applications for recruitment under the scheme.

The opposition accused the government of not taking steps to remove unemployment. A presentation was given by the Defense Ministry in front of the committee members regarding the detailed information of the plan. At the same time, after the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that it was a good meeting.

Congress MP Manish Tewari did not sign the memorandum

Six opposition MPs submitted a memorandum with their signatures to Rajnath Singh, but Congress MP Manish Tewari did not sign it.

TMC’s Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Saugata Roy attended the meeting. At the same time, Supriya Sule of NCP, Rajni Patil, Shakti Singh Gohil and Manish Tewari from Congress, AD Singh from RJD and Ranjanben Bhatt and Ram Bhai Mokharia from BJP joined. Apart from these, senior officers of the three armies including Army Chief Manoj Pandey, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar were also present in the meeting.

Six opposition MPs including Professor Saugata Roy, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, AD Singh, Supriya Sule, Rajni Patil and Shakti Singh submitted a memorandum to Rajnath Singh. However, Congress MP Manish Tewari did not sign the memorandum, despite his opposition to the plan. Tiwari verbally opposed the Agneepath plan. He said that he is in favor of modernization of the army but against the implementation of the Agneepath scheme.

Fears of compromise with the security of the country
According to the news agency ANI, the opposition said that the army is a strategic unit, which is responsible for the security and security of the country. What is the guarantee that after working in the unit for 4 years, he will not compromise on the security of the country.
