JAIPUR: For the first time since December 27, the state reported lowest single-day spike of 90 Covid cases and the daily infection went below 100-mark for the first time in 74 days.
On December 27 and December 28, the state had reported 59 and 97 Covid cases, respectively.
As the Covid cases continued to fall for the past few days, 11 districts, one-third of the total districts in the state, did not report even a single Covid infection in the past 24 hours. Besides, 10 districts reported one case each, three districts reported two cases each and three districts reported three cases each.
Jaipur reported highest number of daily Covid cases at 33, followed by Nagaur (9), Jodhpur (7), Hanumangarh and Sikar (6 cases each) and Udaipur reported four Covid cases in 24 hours.
Districts which reported zero Covid cases in 24 hours were Baran, Bundi, Dausa, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Kota, PaliPratapgarh, Rajsamand and Tonk.
One person died due to Covid on Saturday, thus bringing state’s Covid toll to 9,549, while the overall tally of cases rose to 12,82,156. The death was reported Bikaner, which was its 585th death since March 2020.
