COVID-19 Vaccination: Here’s How to Correct Errors in Vaccine Certificate or ‘Verify’ Its Proof

New Delhi: If there is any error in the vaccine certificate, it can be rectified through CoWIN. Now, you can edit the certification, but have to be extremely careful while mentioning the details as you will not get a second chance to correct the errors. Apart from this, you can also check the certification of vaccine certificate as it will be used at the time of travel and will help you to gain access to multiple places.

The official handle of Aarogya Setu tweeted, “You can now make corrections in your name, year of birth and gender in your CoWIN vaccination certificates, in case errors have occurred inadvertently.”

What are all the improvements that can be made?

With the help of the platform, you can edit your name, gender, photo ID number and date of birth. You also get the option to correct the details mentioned in the vaccine certificate of your family members.

How to fix errors in vaccine certificates

Firstly, you need to visit the link cowin.gov.in and sign in using your registered mobile number.

Once your mobile number is verified you can view the account details.

Here you can check the option named “Raise an issue”. Click on this button and select the member’s name.

Tap the “Certificate correction” box once again and then type in the correct information by tapping on the box for gender, name, etc. Then you need to click on the “Continue” button and then the “Submit” button.

How to Verify the Authenticity of a Vaccine Certificate

After vaccination a certificate is issued which serves as proof of vaccination. There is a secure QR code to protect it from falsification and the authentication of the document can be checked from the official CoWIN portal.

First go to the CoWIN site and click on the Verify Certificate button next to the FAQ button.

Then click on the button “Scan QR Code”, after which a notification will appear prompting you to activate the camera of your device.

Simply use the camera to point to the QR code on your vaccine certificate and scan.

: On successful verification, if your certificate is not genuine, the site will say either “Certificate successfully verified” or “Certificate invalid”.
