After about a month, the corona cases in the country have reached below one lakh. On Sunday, 83 thousand 876 new cases of infection have been reported. During this, 1 lakh 99 thousand 54 patients were cured and 895 people died. Earlier on January 5, 2022, 90,228 cases had come. On January 4, 58,097 new cases were found.
On Saturday, 1 lakh 07 thousand 474 new cases of corona infection were registered and 865 people died. That is, there has been a decrease of about 24,000 in new cases. At present, the total active cases in the country, that is, the number of patients undergoing treatment, has come down to 11.08 lakh. Since the beginning of the epidemic in the country, a total of 4.22 crore people have come under the grip of infection.
Single Dose Sputnik Light Vaccine Approved
On the other hand, the country has now got the 9th vaccine in the fight against corona infection. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has given this information by tweeting on Sunday. He said in a tweet that the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the emergency use of single-dose Sputnik Light Kovid-19 vaccine. This is the 9th corona vaccine approved in the country. This will strengthen the country’s fight against the pandemic.

- Schools from classes 1-9 have been opened in Gujarat from Monday after the reduction in corona cases. It will be mandatory for all school managers to follow the SOP issued by the government. Schools in the state were closed in December 2021 after the pace of Corona increased.
- Following a drop in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee (SEC) on Sunday lifted the weekend lockdown. One hour relaxation has also been given in the time of night curfew.
- On Sunday, 1,151 new cases of corona were registered in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the lowest number of cases in the last one week. The total number of infected here has increased to 4,46,648, while the total figure has reached 4,715 with 9 deaths.
- In view of the decline in the number of Kovid cases and the positivity rate, the central government offices will resume from today with 100% staff attendance at all levels.
- Schools up to class 8th in Bihar will reopen with 50% capacity and all schools, colleges and coaching institutes of class 9 and above with 100% capacity. Cinema halls, clubs, gyms, stadiums, swimming pools, restaurants will operate at 50% capacity.

1. Kerala: 7 thousand decline in new cases
Here on Sunday, 26,729 new infected have been found, while 49,261 patients have been cured and 137 people died. A day before this, 33,538 new infected were found on Saturday and 247 people died.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 62.71 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 58.83 lakh people have been cured, while 58,255 people have died. The positivity rate is 30.34%. A day earlier, the positivity rate was 32.63%.
2. Maharashtra: More than twice as many patients have been cured of new cases
In Maharashtra, 9,666 new cases of corona were found in the last 24 hours. During this 66 people died and 25,175 patients were cured. A day before this, 11,394 new cases were found on Saturday. Now the total active cases in the state have come down to 1.18 lakh.

3. Karnataka: Positivity rate increased from 9.04% to 6.51%

1. Rajasthan: More people have been cured than new cases
In the last 24 hours, 4,509 cases were reported in Rajasthan and 9,752 people were cured. During this 7 people died. A day before this, i.e. on Saturday, 5,602 cases were reported and 9,309 people were cured. During this 19 people died.

2. Gujarat: Positivity rate 4.67%
3897 new cases were found in Gujarat on Sunday. 10,273 people defeated Corona, while 19 people died. A day before this, 4710 new cases were found on Saturday. 11,184 people defeated Corona, while 34 people died.
So far, a total of 12 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 11.44 lakh people have been cured, while 10,667 people have died. Here the active case is 44,618 and the positivity rate is close to 4%. Earlier the positivity rate was 4.67%.
3. Uttar Pradesh: Positivity rate close to 2%
There were 2,774 new corona cases in the last 24 hours. 7,117 people were cured and 15 people died. Earlier on Saturday, 3,521 new corona cases had come. 7,401 people were cured and 17 people died.
So far, 20.44 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 19.93 lakh people have been cured, while 23,318 people died. 28,156 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state. The positivity rate here is close to 2%. The positivity rate was 1.83% a day earlier.
4. Andhra Pradesh: New cases reach below 3,000
In Andhra, 2,690 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while 11,855 people were cured and 9 people died. Earlier on Saturday, 3,396 new cases were reported, while 13,005 people were cured and 9 people died.
So far, 23.03 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 22.19 lakh people have been cured and 14,664 people have died. Active cases are 69,572. The positivity rate is 9.41%. A day earlier, the positivity rate was 11.38%.
5. Odisha: 23 killed in 24 hours
In Odisha, 2,106 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. During this 3,624 people were cured and 23 people died. A day before this, 2,603 new cases were registered on Saturday. During this, 5,376 people were cured and 22 people died.
So far 12.66 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. The death toll has reached 8,734. The total number of active patients is 20,048 and the positivity rate is close to 4%. A day earlier, the positivity rate was 4.13%.
6. Haryana: Total Active Cases 14,113
In the last 24 hours, 1,544 people were found infected in the state. 2,995 people have been cured and 9 people have died. On Saturday, 1,980 people were found infected here. 3,247 people were cured and 14 people died.
So far, more than 9.64 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.40 lakh people have been cured, while 10,395 people died. A total of 14,113 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 5.56%. The positivity rate was 6.12% a day earlier.
7. Delhi: Continuous decline in positivity rate
On Sunday, 1,410 new corona cases were reported in Delhi and 14 people died. 2,506 people have been cured. A day before this, on Saturday, 1,604 new corona cases were reported and 17 people died. 3,324 people were also cured.

So far, 11.39 lakh people of the state have come under the grip of infection. The death toll has reached 13,937. The total number of active patients in the state is 16,608 and the positivity rate is close to 5%. The positivity rate was 5.24% even a day earlier.
9. West Bengal: 20.05 lakh infected so far
835 new cases have been found in West Bengal on Sunday. During this, 2,083 patients were cured, while 34 people have died. A day earlier on Saturday, 1,345 new cases were found. During this, 2,251 patients were cured, while 31 people died.
A total of 20.05 lakh cases have been found in the state so far, while 19.67 lakh people have been cured. A total of 20,823 people have died. Active cases are 17,994. The positivity rate is close to 3%, as against 3.66% a day ago.
10. Punjab: 10,351 in the state active case
In Punjab, 755 new infected have been found on the last day and 28 people have died. 2,692 people have also recovered from the infection. A day before this, 974 new infected were found on Saturday and 16 people died. 2,963 people have also recovered from the infection.
So far 7.52 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.24 lakh people have been cured, while 17,436 people have died. The total active cases are 10,351. The positivity rate in the state is close to 3%. A day earlier also it was 3.26%.
