Last year, the CBSE held the exams in two terms, and the results were declared separately for each term. However, for this year’s exams, the board conducted them in a single term, and the results are anticipated to be announced earlier than the previous year.
CBSE regulations state that students must score at least 33 percent or higher in each subject to clear the board exams. In addition to obtaining at least 33 percent or higher in each subject, students are required to receive passing grades on both their internal and external assessments. Unless exempted, a student can only be granted a passing certificate if they secure an “E grade” or higher in every subject that is a part of their internal examination.
If a student fails either their internal or external exams, their external exam results will only be withheld for one year. However, if a student passes all internal assessment exams but fails one of the five external exam subjects, they will need to appear for the compartment exam for that particular subject.
