The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date to submit the list of candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12 to September 28. The registration process which began on August 18 was earlier scheduled to conclude on September 18 but now has been extended. Schools can also submit the LOC between September 29 to October 5 with a late fee. The date has been extended after representations from various schools, the board said in an official notice.

Schools are required to handle direct admissions separately for classes 10 and 12, referring pertinent instances to the relevant regional office. They have also been directed to compile a list of requests for subject changes made by students and send it to the regional office. The CBSE board exams 2024 will be held from February 15.

CBSE had earlier shared a detailed schedule for classes 10 and 12 including admissions, subject change, attendance, and list of candidates to ensure a seamless flow of events leading up to the board exams 2024. The required actions are outlined in the document titled, “Framework and Significant Guidelines in The Context of the Secondary and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination for Guidance of the Schools.”

Till January 1 of the academic year, schools must gather attendance data for classes 10 and 12 and submit it by January 5. Any deficiencies in this area will be brought to the attention of the schools by January 15, they will then have until January 20 to make the necessary corrections.

CBSE has also begun the registration of the candidates for classes 9 and 11, who are set to appear in the board exams 2025. “As submission of the registration data by adhering to the schedule is very important, the schools are therefore requested to plan timely submission of data of the candidates,” read the official notice. Candidates whose names will be submitted via the online process of submission of registration data will be allowed to sit for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in the academic session 2024-25.
