CBI’s request- Ban on arrest of Sameer Wankhede removed: said in court- serious allegations of extortion on officer in Aryan drug case

Wankhede is currently surrounded by allegations of demanding bribe. CBI has registered an FIR against him.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appealed to the Bombay High Court to vacate the stay on the arrest of Sameer Wankhede. For this, CBI has filed an affidavit in the court. The investigating agency says that there are very serious and sensitive allegations against Wankhede. In such a situation, permission should be given to arrest them.

In the last hearing, the court had stayed the arrest of Wankhede till June 8. The court ordered Wankhede not to make public the chats and other material included in the petition. Along with this, he was asked not to talk to the media.

Aryan Khan was taken into custody on October 2, 2021. He was released after 28 days.

Wankhede has been accused of demanding a bribe of 25 crores
The CBI has accused Wankhede of demanding Rs 25 crore in exchange for the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan in the Cordelia Cruz drugs case. CBI has registered an FIR in this case against 5 people including Wankhede. Against this, Wankhede had reached the court.

Earlier, in Friday’s hearing, the court had ordered the CBI not to take any coercive action against Wankhede till May 22. Today the court has extended this relief till the next hearing.

Wankhede said – My family is getting threats
Wankhede has said that he and his wife Kranti Redkar have been receiving death threats for the last 4 days. He is also getting abusive messages on social media. Wankhede said that he would write a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner demanding security.

CBI questioned for 11 hours in 2 days
The CBI interrogated Sameer Wankhede for 11 hours on 20 and 21 May. On Saturday, he stayed in the CBI office from 11 am to 4 pm. While going inside, he raised the slogan of Satyamev Jayate in front of the media. On Sunday, he went to the CBI office at 10.30 am and came out at 5 pm.
