The Union Cabinet has approved the auction of 5G spectrum in the country. According to the proposal of the Ministry of Telecom, the spectrum of 72 GHz will be auctioned for the next 20 years. The company that is successful in the auction will be able to provide 5G service through this. It will be 10 times faster than the existing 4G service.

Although, the date of starting 5G service in the country has not been decided yet, but according to the mandate of the government, any company that buys spectrum will have to start the service within 6 months to 1 year. Many telecom operators have completed their preparations, so they can start service within 3 to 6 months of purchasing spectrum.
