The path of Electric Vehicle (EV) in the country is going to be easier now. The country’s largest electric vehicle charging station with 96 charging points in Sector-52 of Gurgaon is just the beginning. This station has been built as a model of the EV charging station to be built on the national highways across the country.

Similar stations are going to be built in Jaipur and Agra this year. At the same time, a total of 10 stations will be built on the 280 km highway from Delhi to Jaipur. B8 stations are to be built between Delhi and Agra.

75 EV will be charged simultaneously

The stations to be built in Jaipur, Delhi and Agra will be of 75 points each. That is, 75-75 batteries can be charged simultaneously on them. Batteries of 20-20 trains can be charged at all other stations. One charging station each on both the highways will be solar based. All will have fast charging stations, in which the battery can be fully charged in just one and a half hours. The target is to complete this work this year.

When the battery runs out, you will get another car on the way in just 5 minutes.
According to Abhijit Sinha, Project Director, National Highways for Electric Vehicles, each charging station will have a private cab fleet, as is the case in Gurgaon. If a person has hired a car from e-cab service with driver or for self-driving then there will be many benefits. A fully charged car of the same model will be available from the charging station only after a 5 minute stop for a bio brake.

The charging stations are being built on PPP model. Under the battery swapping policy announced in the budget, the battery can be changed at these stations. That is, you will not have to wait for charging when the battery is exhausted. You deposit the battery and you will get a charged battery of the same model for a nominal charge.

If the car stops for 10 minutes during the journey, then the problem will be asked.

There will be three types of vehicles available for commuting on the e-highway. The first vehicle in these will be e-bus, whose seat can be booked through the app. As a second vehicle, there will also be a facility to book a car through companies like Blue Smart, Ola, Uber, Lithium Urban or Triple E Taxi. You can rent an e-car with or without a driver.

Thirdly, you will be able to travel by your e-car. If the car is parked anywhere for 10 minutes, the control room will be asked immediately on the phone whether you are in any inconvenience. Although the buses will leave the depot only fully charged, precautionary charging facility will be available during the half-hour break at the midway charging station.

The cost of traveling by car is only one and a half rupees. per km
The charging station of Gurgaon is being run by a company named Electrify. Praveen Yadav, CEO, Electrify, said that charging is happening at Rs.12/unit at Gurgaon station. A typical car battery gets fully charged in a maximum of 18 units, which runs for 180-200 km. That is, if you charge the battery at a charging station instead of at home, then the cost of filling the battery is only Rs 216. is coming. That is, only one and a half rupees / per kilometer is being spent. Accordingly, travel will become very cheap in the coming days.

Proposed EV Charging Station
Next year, charging stations will be built on 9 highways including Mumbai-Surat, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, it has also been planned. Abhijit Sinha said that after building charging stations on Delhi-Agra, Delhi-Jaipur highways, the next phase of work will be done in 2023. For this 9 highways have been selected.

These include Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Surat, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, Bengaluru-Mysuru, Bengaluru-Chennai, Eastern Peripheral, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Agra-Delhi Highway and Hyderabad Outer Ring Road Expressway. After this, in the next phase, 5-5 highways connecting 9 metros of the country Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Surat and Pune will be converted into electric highways.
