The High Court has given big relief to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey from Godda, Jharkhand. The Jharkhand High Court has ordered quashing of the FIR filed against him in connection with the fake degree dispute. The trial court has also decided to end the ongoing case.

Justice SK Dwivedi of the High Court said that the FIR lodged in the fake degree dispute of MBA and the proceedings going on in the lower court are quashed. It has been said in the judgment that the FIR was lodged against Dubey due to political vendetta. Therefore, with its quashing, the case is dismissed.

MP Dubey had filed a petition in the High Court challenging the FIR and the cognizance taken by the lower court in the matter. During the hearing, Dubey’s lawyer said that all the allegations leveled against him are baseless. An FIR has been registered out of political envy. A complaint was also made to the Election Commission, but the commission did not take any action against them on the complaint.

Earlier, the Jharkhand government said that an FIR has been lodged against him citing the MBA degree being fake. Dubey has given information about getting MBA degree from Delhi University in the year 2009 and 2014 elections. By citing false degrees, he has spread confusion among the people. The police have filed the charge sheet after completing the investigation. Cognizance on this has also been taken by the lower court in the right sections. At the same time, the Election Commission has dismissed the complaint without conducting an inquiry. It has been challenged in the Delhi High Court.
