Home Ministry restores FCRA registration of Mother Teresa Charity, now it is possible to take foreign donations
The Union Home Ministry has restored the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity. After the restoration of this registration, now the organization will be able to take donations from abroad. On December 27, the Ministry of Home Affairs had said that some ‘adverse inputs’ were found while renewing the FCRA registration of the institution. Hence renewal was not approved. The FCRA registration of the institution was valid only till December 31.

Due to the increasing cases of Corona, strict restrictions will remain in force for the devotees. On Friday, the Kolkata High Court had approved the holding of the fair with certain conditions. A public interest litigation was filed in the court to postpone the Ganga Sagar Mela due to the increasing infection of Corona in Bengal. It was said in the petition that every year a crowd of about 30 lakh people gather in the Ganga Sagar Mela. Corona infection can spread rapidly due to large crowds. However, the court approved the holding of the fair with certain conditions.
