The STF did an encounter of Asad and Ghulam near Paricha Dam in Badagaon, Jhansi.
Asad, son of gangster Atiq Ahmed, and shooter Ghulam Mohammad were killed by the UP police on Thursday. Both were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case. Both had a reward of five lakh rupees each. According to the police, foreign weapons have also been found with them. STF did the encounter near Parichha Dam in Jhansi.
Prashant Kumar, ADG Law and Order said- There were inputs that plans are being made to rescue Atiq by attacking the convoy on the way. In view of this, special forces were deployed.
During the STF action, Atiq’s production was going on in Prayagraj court. He started crying after hearing the news of his son’s encounter. When the throat was dry, he asked for water and sat down holding his head.
Asad and Ghulam Mohammad were absconding since the murder of Umesh Pal on 24 February. STF was continuously tracing him for 48 days and killed him after getting his location in Jhansi. The encounter was led by Deputy SP Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal.
STF DIG Anant Dev Tiwari told that Asad and Ghulam, the main shooters of the Umesh Pal murder case, tried to escape on the bike on seeing the police team. On being chased by the STF team, firing was done with foreign state-of-the-art weapons. His bike fell in retaliatory firing. On which both of them targeted the police while running. The police also retaliated. 49 rounds of firing took place in this encounter which lasted for about 30 minutes.

ADG Law and Order said – Government committed to eliminate mafias
Uttar Pradesh’s ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said- You know the government’s commitment to eliminate crime and criminals, mafias. The government is adopting the policy of zero tolerance. When some people were stopped on the basis of information between 12.30 to 1.00 pm, bullets were fired from both the sides. In that operation STF fired on Asad and Ghulam.
