As soon as the contempt of court rule was issued, a blockade was raised in the High Court, a boycott was issued by a group of lawyers

As soon as the contempt of court was issued, a blockade was lifted outside the courtroom of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha. However, according to court sources, some lawyers are still boycotting. Normal proceedings have started in Justice Mantha’s court from Wednesday morning.

Last Monday, the lawyers clashed over the boycott of Justice Manthar Ejlas. When a group of lawyers tried to enter the room number 13 of the court, the Trinamool lawyers prevented it.

But after the promulgation of the rule, the situation has completely changed. Court proceedings started at 10:30 am on Wednesday. According to court sources, several cases have been heard in the court of Justice Manthar.

However, a section of lawyers still continued the boycott. More than 500 cases were not heard in the High Court due to the boycott of lawyers for the last two days.

Bar Association Secretary Vishwabrat Basu Mallick assured Justice Mantha, “Nothing will happen before this assembly, the problem will be solved soon”. However, he requested not to judge any case if there are no two parties. The judge said, ‘It should not happen in front of not only my assembly, but also the assembly of other judges. Necessary directions should be given in cases of great importance’.

Meanwhile, Governor CV Anand Bose is angry about the protest of lawyers against Justice Mantha. He summoned Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and Home Secretary BP Gopalika to the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning.
