Announcement of 62 BJP candidates: 6 tickets including Horticulture Minister withheld; No tickets for 2 former MLAs from Congress

Bharatiya Janata Party has announced 62 candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. At present 6 seats are withheld. There are total 68 assembly seats in Himachal.

6 tickets including Horticulture and Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur have not been cleared yet. His 10 ministers, including Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, will contest again. BJP has also given ticket to former Kangra MLA Pawan Kajal and former Nalagarh MLA Lakhwinder Rana, who left Congress and joined BJP. Anil Sharma has been given ticket from Mandi.

The BJP high command has cut the ticket of minister Mahendra Singh and has given ticket to his son Rajat Thakur. BJP has given tickets to four women Sarveen Chowdhary from Shahpur, Rita Dhiman from Indora, Reena Kashyap from Pachhad, Shashi Bala from Rohru. BJP has given ticket to Dr. Janak Raj by cutting ticket of sitting MLA Jialal from Bharmour.

13 out of 15 tickets declared in Kangra, Dehra-Volcano hold
BJP has fielded Ranveer Singh Nikka from Nurpur seat in Kangra district, Rita Dhiman from Indora, Rakesh Pathania from Fatehpur, Sanjay Guleria from Jawali, Vikram Thakur from Jaswan Paragpur, Ravindra Dhiman from Jaisinghpur, Vipan Parmar from Sulah, Arun Kumar Mehra from Nagrota Bagwan, Pawan Kajal from Kangra, Sarveen Chaudhary from Shahpur, Rakesh Chaudhary from Dharamsala, Trilok Kapoor from Palampur and Mulkhraj Premi from Baijnath have been given tickets. Tickets have not been announced for the Dehra and Jwalamukhi seats here.

13 out of 15 tickets declared in Kangra, Dehra-Volcano hold

Candidates declared on all five seats of Chamba district
Tickets have been announced for all the five seats in Chamba district. Here, sitting MLA and deputy speaker Hansraj from Churah seat, Janak Raj from Bharmour, Indira Kapoor from Chamba Sadar seat and BS Thakur from Dalhousie and Vikram Jariyal from Bhatiyat have been given tickets. Janakraj was an MS of Indira Gandhi Medical College and had resigned from the job a few days back.

3 out of 4 tickets declared in Kullu district, Kullu seat hold
Tickets have been announced for 3 out of 4 seats in Kullu district. Here ticket has been given to Govind Singh Thakur from Manali seat, Surendra Shorey from Banjar, Lokinder Kumar from Ani. The candidate for Kullu seat has not yet been announced.

All 10 tickets of Mandi issued, ticket to son instead of minister Mahendra Singh from Dharampur
Candidates have been announced for all the 10 seats in Mandi district. Here CM Jairam Thakur from Churah seat, Deepraj Kapoor from Karsog seat, Rakesh Jamwal from Sundernagar, Vinod Kumar from Nachan and Purnchand Thakur from Drang seat have been given tickets. Similarly, Prakash Rana has been nominated from Jogendranagar seat, Rajat Thakur from Dharampur, Anil Sharma from Mandi Sadar, Inder Singh Gandhi from Balh and Dilip Thakur from Sarkaghat seat.

A major change has been made in the tickets of Mandi district on Dharampur seat. The party has fielded his son Rajat Thakur in place of sitting minister Mahendra Singh Thakur here.

Candidates in 4 out of 5 seats of Hamirpur, Badsar hold
Candidates have been announced for 4 out of 5 seats in Hamirpur, the home district of former CM Premkumar Dhumal. Here ticket has been given to Anil Dhiman from Bhoranj seat, Captain Ranjit Singh from Sujanpur, Narendra Thakur from Hamirpur seat, Vijay Agnihotri from Nadaun. The candidate has not been announced for the Badsar seat here at present.

Una’s Haroli seat hold, tickets issued on remaining 4
Candidates have been announced for 4 out of five seats in Una district. Here Balbir Chaudhary has been nominated from Chintpurni seat, Rajesh Thakur from Gagret, Satpal Singh Satti from Una, Virendra Kanwar from Kutlahar seat. Here the ticket from Haroli seat was not announced in the first list. Congress has fielded Mukesh Agnihotri from Haroli seat. BJP is looking for a stronger candidate than him here.
