Anantnag Operation Enters Day 5: Search for Two Terrorists Continues

Anantnag Operation: Schools Shut, Residents Evacuated

After the unfortunate loss of three senior officers and one soldier on the first day of the operation, efforts were made with unwavering strength and careful tactics to minimize further losses.

To effectively manage the challenging terrain, drones and helicopters were deployed to maintain constant surveillance over the hilly landscape and accurately pinpoint the terrorists’ locations within the forested region of Gadole in the Kokernag area of South Kashmir.

In addition to surveillance, security forces employed mortar shells to target the forested areas, as there were numerous cave-like hideouts in the vicinity.

Drone technology played a crucial role in identifying these hideouts, enabling precise attacks on them. Remarkably, drone footage captured one militant attempting to seek cover after one such hideout was struck by shells fired by security forces on Friday.

Due to the ongoing operation, schools in the Gadole Kokernag area have remained closed for the fifth consecutive day. Additionally, as a precautionary measure, local residents residing near the operational zone have been evacuated.

Security forces have effectively secured the high ground within the Gadole forest and have established a formidable cordon around the area to prevent the escape of any terrorists.
