Ajit is not angry for not being made the working president: Said- I am a state level leader; Sharad Pawar said – it is not right for any one to take all the responsibility

Dismissing reports of resentment, Ajit said, “The party has not given me any responsibility, it is wrong.”

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday announced two new working presidents of the party. Sharad entrusted this responsibility to his daughter Supriya Sule and Praful Patel. However, Sharad’s nephew Ajit Pawar was not happy with the decision.

He left the 25th foundation year program of NCP organized in Mumbai without talking to anyone. Later, he clarified that the decision to make Supriya the working president had already been taken. There is nothing surprising in this. I am a state level leader, while Supriya is a national leader.

Dismissing reports of displeasure, Ajit said, “Some media reports have said that I am unhappy that the party has not given me any responsibility, it is wrong.” When Sharad Pawar resigned, we formed a committee.

At that time two decisions had to be taken. The first was to request Sharad Pawar to withdraw his resignation and the second to appoint Supriya Sule as working president.

The rest of the committee members said to focus on persuading Sharad Pawar to take back his resignation. In a democracy, the majority has to be respected. That’s why I also focused on the issue of resignation.

Ajit says he is mainly interested in state politics. He said, I am the leader of the opposition in Maharashtra and the leader of the party at the state level. My interests are at the state level and Supriya is a national leader.

Ajit referred to his resignation from national politics in 1991. Ajit Pawar told that due to his less interest in national politics, he thought it right to stay in the state.

Sharad said – It is wrong to give all the responsibility to one person
Announcing the working president on Saturday, Sharad had clearly said that Ajit already has many responsibilities. That’s why he was not made the working president.

Sharad said, the situation in the country is such that it would be wrong to give the responsibility of all the states to only one person. There should be enough hands to look after the affairs of the party across the country. In this situation, two working presidents were elected.

A supporter wrote a letter in blood, urging him to withdraw his resignation. He himself showed it to his supporters.

Pawar left the post of president on May 2, after 4 days the decision was withdrawn
The demand for a working president in NCP started rising when Sharad Pawar left the post of NCP president on 2 May. However, he took back his resignation within 4 days. He said in a press conference on May 6, ‘I cannot insult the sentiments of party workers and leaders.

After his resignation, Pawar formed a 16-member core committee to elect a new president. In the committee meeting, the party’s national general secretary Praful Patel moved a motion to reject Pawar’s resignation and requested him to withdraw the decision. The rest of the committee members also supported the resolution and rejected Pawar’s resignation.
