AAP government’s troubles on security cut continue: High Court summons record of all decisions to reduce security; government to stop document leak

In the name of action on VIP culture in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, which has cut security, seems to be surrounded. The matter was heard in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday. During this, the High Court has summoned the record of all the decisions taken by the Punjab Government regarding security cuts.

Along with this, the High Court asked the Punjab government to resolve the issue of leakage of security cuts. Documents should not be leaked. After which the High Court reserved the decision. Many leaders of Punjab have filed a petition in the High Court on the security cut.

The matter heated up after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala.  Musewala was shot dead the very next day after the security was reduced.

Agencies review: Advocate General
During the hearing in the High Court, Punjab Advocate General Vinod Ghai said that we are taking care of the safety of common and special people with full responsibility and seriousness. The court should trust us. As far as providing security is concerned, it is the job of the agencies. He reviews it. In the matter of threat to the persons concerned after the security cut leak, the Advocate General said that the agencies are reviewing it.

The case erupted after the Musewala massacre
Security cuts were started soon after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. About 4 times the government reduced the security. However, each time the order got leaked. Which was promoted as an action on VIP culture. However, on May 28, the government reduced the security of 424 people. In which Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was also involved. The very next day i.e. on 29th May, Moosewala was shot and killed.
