Pilots of Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines are on a one-day strike on Friday to demand a pay hike. Due to this the entire system of airlines has been shaken. Today 800 Lufthansa flights have been canceled worldwide. Due to this, more than 700 passengers are also stranded at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Due to the cancellation of flights, passengers created a ruckus at the airport, they say that return our fare or make arrangements to go again.

Two flights taking off from Delhi canceled
Angry passengers are creating a ruckus over the cancellation of the flight. Due to this, security personnel have been deployed inside the airport. Lufthansa Airlines had two flights from Delhi airport, carrying around 400 passengers to Munich and Frankfurt. Passengers say that when they reached the airport, they came to know that the flights had been cancelled.
200 passengers were sent on another flight
Some of the passengers traveling by Lufthansa Airlines are students who had to go abroad to appear for exams. Students say that our future is in danger due to cancellation of flights. They are shouting slogans at the airport. As the commotion escalated, the airline has sent about 200 passengers to their destination through another airline. At present 500 passengers are stranded at Delhi airport.
Pilots demanding increase in salary and dearness allowance
The pilots’ union has demanded a 5.5% hike in salaries and dearness allowance for over 5,000 pilots this year. When their demands were not met, the pilots went on a one-day strike. In the past, Lufthansa has faced several strikes this year from security workers and ground staff to raise wages.
In July the airline faced a one-day walkout called by Germany’s powerful Verdi Union, affecting its flights to domestic hubs in Frankfurt and Munich.
