58% Indians plan to travel in next 3 months amid Omicron scare: Survey | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Around 58% of Indians still have plans to travel in the next 3 months amid Omicron threat, a survey has revealed.
According to a survey by LocalCircles, many people in the country are looking forward to travel during the December-March period.
The survey which received 9,890 responses, said that only 18% have made their bookings so far which means many may look for last-minute deals or undertake road travel depending on the third wave of Covid.
“Of those who plan to travel in December-March, 49% plan to visit family and friends, 45% plan to do miscellaneous travel while 21% planning holiday travel; some plan to take up multiple types of travel,” the survey found.
The survey also revealed that the enthusiasm for travel while Omicron variant cases are on the rise is higher than what it was before Delta and the second Covid wave.
It is an extremely worrying situation because if this travel happens as per plan the third wave will likely be significant.
Visiting family and friends and other miscellaneous travel are on top of people’s list as compared to visiting holiday destination in the next 3 months, the LocalCircles said.
