4 year old innocent won the battle of life: rescued in 7 hours in Chhatarpur, pulled out of borewell, child was trapped in a depth of 25 feet

4-year-old innocent Deependra, who fell in a borewell in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, has been rescued safely. The child was pulled out after a rescue operation that lasted for about 7 hours. The rescue team put a rope in the pit of the borewell, this rope was caught by the child in his shoulder. After which he was slowly pulled out of the pit. As soon as the child was taken out, he was taken to the hospital for medical checkup.

The incident took place near Narayanpura and Pathapur village of Orchha Road police station area. Here, 4-year-old son of Akhilesh Yadav, resident of Narayanpura, Dipendra Yadav went to the farm with the family. Who fell in the borewell while playing. The army also took the lead in the rescue operation. Apart from this, SDERF, administration and police were also present on the spot the whole time. After the child was rescued safely, the family members as well as the villagers and the administration team heaved a sigh of relief.

Earlier, intermittent rain also caused problems in the rescue. The team carried out rescue work by covering the area around the pit with tarpaulin to avoid rain. The collector himself and the police officer several times descended into the pit dug for rescue and took stock of the situation. The child was trapped at a depth of about 25 feet. During this he was also given oxygen. Parallel to the pit was excavated more than 28 feet deep.

Dipendra was trapped in the pit since 2.30 pm. On information, police and administrative officers reached the spot. The camera was inserted inside the borewell, in which the child’s movement was also seen. The SDERF (State Disaster Emergency Response Force) team also took the lead on the spot. The child grabbed the rope put in the pit by the team. After which he was dragged out.

CM Shivraj also expressed happiness

Expressing happiness on the safe exit of Deependra, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated his parents and the entire administration team.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had spoken to the mother of the child through video call. The CM had assured him of the safe evacuation of the child. He had told the child’s mother that the administrative staff is involved in the rescue. CMO Ompal Singh Bhadauria also reached the spot. They put the tape to know at how many feet the depth of the child is trapped. DSP Shashank Jain himself also landed in the pit.

150 people engaged in rescue

It took about 150 people of the rescue team to save the child. In this the team of SDRF, Police, Municipality and Nagar Sena was involved. Apart from this, more than 300 villagers were also present for help. The camera was inserted in the borewell. At the same time, excavation work from three JCBs continued.

Mother Laxmi Yadav told that the son had gone to the farm with the grandfather. He has two sons. The elder one is Naresh and the younger one is Deependra. Last year he got admitted in nursery. A year ago, borewell was installed on the farm. Due to non-availability of water, the borewell was closed by placing thorny bushes. Recently the bushes were removed to make the field before the rains. While playing there, Dipendra went to the borewell and the accident happened.

Chief Minister Shivraj took information about the rescue
On the news of the child falling into the borewell in Chhatarpur, CM Shivraj Singh inquired about the rescue operation from the officers. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, after discussing with the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Collector Chhatarpur, had instructed that proper arrangements should be made for the early evacuation of the child. The Chief Minister also directed the SDRF team to reach the spot and start the work of evacuating the child.
