Drug smugglers caught by Punjab Police.
Punjab Police has recovered 38KG heroin from Nawanshahr. The recovery took place from a truck that came from Gujarat. The heroin was brought hidden in the toolbox of the truck. In this case, the police have arrested the truck driver Kulwinder Ram alias Kinda and Bittu, residents of Balachaur in Nawanshahr. Drug smugglers Rajesh Kumar alias Sonu Khatri and Somnath alias Bikku have also been named along with them. They were told where to pick up heroin by calling them from the Telegram app.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Sonu Khatri and other smugglers and gangsters will be brought back and punished.
Case registered on secret information
DGP Gaurav Yadav told that the police had got secret information. In which it was found that drug smuggler Rajesh Sonu along with his associates Somnath Bikku, Kulwinder Kinda and Bittu indulges in heroin smuggling. He brings heroin from outside in a truck and supplies it to Punjab.
Heroin was being brought hidden in the toolbox of this truck.
Tried to drive away the truck breaking the blockade
On coming to know about this, the police registered a case against them at the police station Nawanshahr. After this, the blockade was put on the Mahalon bypass. During this, the police party signaled the truck to stop but Kulwinder Kinda ran it away. The police party chased both of them and recovered heroin.
Location was told through telegram app
SSP Bhagirath Meena said that in the initial investigation, Kulwinder Kinda told that he had received a call from Rajesh Sonu. Who told him the location of heroin pick up in Bhuj, Gujarat through telegram call. Which was asked to bring to Punjab. Kinda reached there then an unknown person came there. He put heroin in the truck. Kinda also said that even before this he has brought 10 and 20 kg heroin from Srinagar and 1 kg heroin from Delhi in the month of January.
Rajesh sonu professional criminal
DGP Gaurav Yadav told that Rajesh Kumar alias Sonu Khatri is a professional criminal. He is sitting abroad. There are 19 cases registered against him. Those who have been registered in serious cases like murder, fraud, drug smuggling. At the same time, Kinda has also been imprisoned for 10 years under the NDPS Act. 3.45 quintals of Bhukki was recovered from him.
