The 350th anniversary of the coronation of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is being celebrated at the Raigad Fort in Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message was telecast on the first day of the 7-day long celebrations in Maharashtra. In the message, he said – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ended the mentality of slavery.

The PM said, ‘When he was coronated, the slogan of Swaraj echoed in all four directions. Shivaji always kept the unity and integrity of India paramount. Today the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat reflects his thoughts. National welfare and public welfare have been the basic elements of his governance.

The identity of the British rule was replaced by the royal seal of Shivaji Maharaj. In fact, on 2 September 2022, the Government of India had removed the St. George’s Cross from it while making changes in the flag of the Indian Navy. In the new flag, Satyamev Jayate is written on one side, while the anchor is made on the other side. This is the royal seal of Shivaji Maharaj.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also participated in the program organized in Raigarh regarding Shivaji’s coronation. Here he became a part of various rituals. Cultural Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar performed Jalabhishek of Shivaji’s statue. For this, water was collected from rivers all over Maharashtra. Apart from this, flowers were also showered on the statue of Shivaji Maharaj from a helicopter.
