YouTuber Kalsi Arrested For Reckless Driving While Recreating Scene From Farzi

Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested YouTuber Joravar Singh Kalsi and his three associates for creating a social media video, in which they recklessly drove on Golf Course Road and threw counterfeit currency notes from their car, imitating a scene from a web series. Kalsi and his friend were charged under sections 279, 336, and 283 of the Indian Penal Code for rash driving, endangering public safety, and obstructing public pathways, according to officials from the Sushant Lok police station.

On March 2, Kalsi posted a reel on his Instagram account, in which he and his associate acted out a scene from the web series ‘Farzi,’ starring Shahid Kapoor. In the reel, Kalsi instructed his partner to throw the currency notes from their moving car, and the latter threw the notes from the car’s boot in the underpass of the Golf course road.

Below is the video which was uploaded on Joravar Singh Kalsi’s Instagram account.

The video received widespread attention on Instagram, with many questioning whether permission was sought for its creation and expressing concern that it could have caused an accident. Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammad Zahid filed a complaint, resulting in the registration of an FIR on Tuesday at Sushant Lok police station.

According to the complaint, the individuals in the video were driving recklessly, endangering the lives of others and calling each other by the names of characters in the web series. “YouTuber Joravar Singh Kalsi has been arrested. He is a resident of Tilak Nagar area of Delhi. After questioning him, the other three youths involved in this were also nabbed. The accused have used fake notes in making this video,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vikas Kaushik.

Kalsi, 24, is a media influencer with 3.51 lakh subscribers on his Youtube channel and 342K followers on Instagram. Officials are currently interrogating Kalsi and his associates to identify any other individuals involved in the video’s production.
