Youth Congress protests in Delhi over Adani case: Slogans raised against Modi government, many activists detained

The Congress party has started protesting from Parliament to the road regarding the report of Adani Group and Hindenburg. Youth Congress protests outside Shastri Bhawan in Delhi on Thursday. The protesting Congress workers raised slogans under the leadership of Youth Congress President BV Srinivas.

The police also used mild force to stop the activists. During this, many Congress workers were detained. At the same time, the members of Mahila Congress staged a sit-in against the central government on unemployment, price rise and other issues at Jantar Mantar.

Tell that the opposition is a constant attacker on the central government on the Adani case. On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi asked 7 questions to the Modi government on this matter in the Lok Sabha. All opposition leaders including Congress are continuously demanding JPC for this.

Now understand why the controversy broke out on the Adani case…
On January 25, the Hindenburg Company of America released a report about Adani Group companies. The report title was- How the third richest man in the world is perpetrating the biggest fraud in corporate history. In his report, Hindenburg made 3 major allegations against Adani.

First charge: The share price of Adani Group companies is up to 85% higher than other companies doing business in the same sector. Actually, the share price is determined by the profits made by that company. The market estimates how much the share price of a company will be compared to the profit it will make. This is called Price Earning Ratio. The price earning ratio of Adani companies is much higher than other companies.

Second charge: Adani Group has increased the price of its shares by rigging the stock market. Adani invested money in companies in Mauritius and other countries. Those companies later bought shares from the Adani Group company.

Third charge: Adani Group has a huge debt of more than 2.20 lakh crores. It has been said in the report that companies have taken more debt than their capacity. Many companies of Adani Group have taken loans by pledging their shares. Adani had also taken loans to buy ACC and Ambuja Company in the past. In such a situation, banks have nothing to recover except Adani’s share.
