GREATER NOIDA: Police on Tuesday arrested a 24-year-old youth for allegedly posting morphed photos of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Facebook.
“The morphed picture was shared by a Twitter user, and officials were tagged in it. We took cognizance of the matter, registered a case and began a probe,” said Umesh BahadurSHO of Jewar police station.
“With the help of technical surveillance, the man — Amir Khan, a resident of Dayanatpur village in Jewar — was zeroed down near Sabota underpass on Tuesday and nabbed,” the SHO said.
Khan has been booked under IPC sections 152B (imputations and assertions prejudicial to national integration) and 505(2) (public mischief) and under the Information Technology Act.
