A case of acid attack on a woman and her child has come to light in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Lata, who lives in Vinobabhave Nagar, got a call from an unknown number on Tuesday morning. The woman who called said to Lata that your husband’s affair is going on, if you come to meet her, I will give you complete information. When Lata came out of the house with her two-and-a-half-year-old child, scooty-riders threw acid on her.

Fortunately, the target of the attackers was missed, due to which not much acid fell on Lata and her child. Both have suffered injuries on their hands and abdomen. The people present on the spot admitted the injured mother-son to the hospital. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which two scooty-riding people are seen throwing acid on the woman. Police has arrested a woman in the case.

Lata told- I am a housewife and my husband Puranik is a driver by profession. We also have a two and a half year old son. Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock a woman called and told about her husband’s affair, I got upset because of this. The caller called me to meet Kundanlal Guptanagar and said that she will give complete information after meeting.

Lata told that when she came out of the house with her son in her lap, two people came on a scooty at some distance and threw acid on her. The attackers were wearing a burqa, that’s why Lata could not see them. After the attack, both fled from there.

DCP Shravan Dutta Zone 5 said that the local police and crime branch team are engaged in the investigation. A woman who attacked has been arrested. Soon he will be produced in the court. The condition of the injured woman is fine, she has been discharged from the hospital. The condition of the child remains critical.
