Olympic medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia has given a great lesson to the youth who are interested in wrestling. He has put some pictures of his practice on social media. In which his body is stained with mud. Bajrang Poonia wrote – Learn to be stubborn, because no man is successful in one night. Poonia recently won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

reached the arena from the age of seven
Bajrang was born in Khudan village of Jhajjar district of Haryana. His father Balwan Singh is also a wrestler, but could not reach the international level. Balwan Singh, who dreamed of sending his son to the Olympics, started sending Bajrang to the arena at the age of 7 to learn the tricks of wrestling. Today Poonia is known all over the world in wrestling.

The first gold was dedicated to the former PM
Bajrang Punia is the 9th Indian wrestler to win a gold medal in the Asian Games. Bajrang gave his Asian gold medal to former PM Late. Dedicated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Presently, he works as a Gazetted Officer OSD Sports in Indian Railways.

Gold won in Rome before Olympics
Bajrang Punia has trained at the Regional Center of Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Sonipat. His family also lives in Sonipat. By winning gold in the Matteo Pelicone Ranking Series held in Rome in March, Bajrang Punia showed that he was ready for the Olympics. Bajrang has won medals in World Under-23 Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Asian Championships and World Championships.

Won first medal in world championship in 2013
Bajrang won his first World Championship medal at the senior level in the 60 kg weight category in 2013. He won the bronze medal in this tournament held in Hungary. In 2018, he won silver in the World Wrestling Championship held in Budapest. In 2019 also, Bajrang won the silver medal in the World Championship held in Noor Sultan.

Seven medals in Asian Championship so far
Bajrang has so far won 7 medals in the Asian Wrestling Championship. He won the silver medal at the Asian Championships held in Almaty this year. Earlier, in 2020 in Delhi and in 2014 in Astana, he also won a silver medal in the championship. Won Gold Medal in Shiyan in 2019 and Delhi in 2017. He had to be satisfied with the bronze medal in 2018 Bishkek and 2013 Delhi.

Received Padma Shri award
Bajrang Punia, who considers wrestling to be his everything, has received the Padma Shri award. Apart from this, he has also been honored with Arjuna Award and Khel Ratna by the government. Even after this, he constantly appears in the arena and keeps introducing the youth to wrestling nuances.
