HIGHLIGHTS

  • No.1 Iga Swiatek has nearly twice as many points as No.2
  • Coco Gauff jumps 10 places to take career-high rank No.13
  • Anett Kontaveit attains career-high rank of No.2

World No.1 Iga Swiatek’s second victory at the French Open gave the Pole a lead of nearly twice as many points as the second-ranked Anett Kontaveit.

Swiatek, who won her sixth consecutive title this season, including the Roland Garros crown, has 8,631 points, which is 4,305 more than anyone else on the chart.

The Pole is spending her 10th consecutive week as No.1 following the sudden retirement of Ashleigh Barty earlier on April 4.

Meanwhile, Kontaveit has attained No.2 for the first time. Although she crashed out of the French Open in the first round, Kontaveit appeared in back-to-back finals earlier this year, including St. Petersburg, where she won her sixth career title, and Doha, where she finished as runner-up to eventual champion Swiatek.

Paula Badosa, Ons Jabeur and Maria Sakkari complete the current Top 5.

American teenager Coco Gauff, who finished as runner-up in the 2022 French Open, moved up 10 places to gain No. 13 spot in the world rankings chart.
