South Korea has given a big warning to its neighboring country North Korea. South Korea has said it will launch a nuclear strike and “the end” of the entire regime led by Kim Jong Un. Yonhap news agency gave this information on Friday. South Korea’s warning comes at a time when a US nuclear-capable submarine has been deployed to it.
Before South Korea, Kim Jong Un threatened that the deployment of US nuclear-capable submarines and other strategic weapons here meant that his country could also use nuclear weapons. North Korea’s Defense Minister Kang Sun-nam reacted sharply to the arrival of an 18,750-ton US nuclear submarine in South Korea the previous day, Yonhap news agency reported. It also criticized the inaugural meeting of the South Korea-US Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG) this week.

Why is the USS Kentucky submarine special?
The USS Kentucky submarine arrived in the southeastern port city of Busan on Tuesday. The Ohio-class USS Kentucky carries more nuclear warheads than North Korea’s entire arsenal. This submarine is nuclear powered. This submarine is equipped with 20 Trident II D-5 ballistic missiles. The Trident-II nuclear ballistic missile has a maximum range of about 12,000 km. The length of this submarine is 560 feet and displacement is 18,750 tonnes.
After boarding the same nuclear submarine, the South Korean president said that its deployment reflects the desire of the US and South Korea to strengthen our extended deterrence capabilities. The visit of South Korean President Yoon Seok Yeol aboard the USS Kentucky is the first by a head of state from an ally of the US.
