New Delhi: India women’s cricket team suffered a humiliating 4-wicket loss against England in their fourth match of the ongoing ICC Women’s ODI World Cup at the Bay Oval. This is team India’s second defeat in their four World Cup matches.
Batting first, India was restricted for a total of 134 runs. A clinical bowling effort from England helped them easily bowl out India inside 37 overs. If India’s dismal outing with the bat disappointed fans, a stunning fielding effort from India’s vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur won everyone’s heart.
Harmanpreet completed a brilliant catch while running backward to send England’s wicket-keeper Amy Jones back to the pavilion. After taking the catch, she fell to the ground on her head but didn’t get much hurt.

In the end, Indian bowlers could not defend the small target and ultimately lost the match against England by four wickets.
Batting first in this match, India’s performance was very disappointing. They were reduced to 134 runs in 36.2 overs. Seven Indian batters could not even score in double-figure.
Smriti Mandhana scored the highest 35 runs for her team. Richa Ghosh scored 33 and Jhulan Goswami scored 20 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 14 runs. Captain Mithali scored just one run while Deepti Sharma returned to the pavilion for a duck.
