The National Women’s Commission has also started its investigation regarding the death of Sonali Phogat. On Wednesday, the commission formed a two-member team and in the evening the team had reached Goa. One member of the team, Kanchan Khattar, spoke to Sonali’s brother Rinku and her brother-in-law Aman Poonia for about 1 hour and recorded their statements. Kanchan gained many information from both. Also checked CCTV footage.
Talked to hotel staff as well. Brother-in-law Aman Poonia told that the commission is investigating the death as suspicious. Sonali was ill at night, but was taken to the hospital in the morning. National Commission chairperson Rekha Shama said that the investigation of the 2-member committee is not yet complete. It will be disclosed as soon as the investigation report comes. The matter will be dealt with in depth.
Let us inform that when the news of Sonali Phogat’s death spread on the morning of 23 August, the National Commission for Women took cognizance of the matter. The commission immediately announced a probe into Sonali’s death. Simultaneously, a 2-member committee was constituted for investigation. Wrote a letter to the DGP of Goa, seeking information about Sonali’s post-mortem report and action taken in the case.

Sudhir accused of rape and murder
Sonali’s brother Rinku has filed a complaint with Goa Police accusing Sudhir Sangwan of raping and blackmailing Sonali. It is alleged in the complaint that he has been raping Sonali for 3 years and blackmailing her by making videos. The family alleges that Sudhir was also involved in the theft at Sonali’s house three years ago. However, there is a contradiction in the family on the allegation of raping Sonali.

Sonali Phogat died of heart attack on 23 August in Goa. He was accompanied by PA Sudhir and Sukhwinder in Goa at that time. Sudhir called Sonali’s brother at 8 am on Tuesday and informed about the death. After that he didn’t pick up the phone. Sonali’s family alleges that Sudhir and Sukhwinder have murdered her. Sudhir wants to grab Sonali’s property. That’s why he has killed Sonali.
