Will the current go tonight? Calcutta in panic before going to bed at night, to CESC

Will the current go tonight? Many people of Kolkata and adjoining areas are suffering from that fear before going to sleep. Because in many places of the city and suburbs, the electricity goes out as the night progresses. This problem has started with increasing heat. There is no current for one to two hours at night. Netizens have expressed their anger on social media. They claim that only when they call CESC, they are getting blocked answers. There is no benefit at all.

South Bengal, including Kolkata, has been experiencing uncomfortably hot weather for the past few days. It’s practically not raining. Even at night there is no relief as the minimum temperature rises. Meanwhile, life is becoming unbearable as the electricity goes off at night. After sleeping all day, sleep is flying away. Not only that, even if there is current, sometimes there is a voltage that looks like the fan is not rotating.

Netizens are expressing their anger on social media about that issue. One such netizen said, ‘There is no electricity for at least 30 hours a month. The voltage is low for at least 210 hours a month. But in the last three months, three times more bills than usual are coming.’ Another netizen said, ‘Disgusting situation. The power goes out at least twice a day. Every time we call, and get the same answer. It is said that there is a problem with the transformer. Is it fun?’

A netizen once again took a dig at CESC and said, ‘We are impressed with your service. I can’t express the joy of seeing the electricity turned off every night when I come home from work. If you did not take this responsibility, there would be no feeling of warmth in summer. I could sleep at night. I can understand that you provide such a good service on the day of bill payment. Charge more for helping fill your summer season.’

Although state power minister Arup Biswas claims that so much current is going because of people. Because additional AC is being used without informing the power company. By way of example, he claimed, someone showed that he had taken an AC. But he is using extra AC. Power companies are not installing more powerful transformers because they don’t have that information. Now if there is more pressure on the transformer it is flying.
