Sushmita Sen is all set to headline the last season of Emmy nominated web series Aarya. Ahead of its release, the actress who shares a close bond with Salman Khan recounted an interesting anecdote from the sets of Biwi No 1, where Salman Khan insisted Sushmita Sen to wear heels, despite David Dhawan insisting her to use flats, considering the height difference between the actress and Salman Khan.

During an interview with Mashable India, Sushmita Sen recalled, “When David would say on the sets of Biwi No 1 that ‘Sush, don’t wear heels’, I would come in flats like okay, no problem. And Salman would say ‘that’s a nice outfit but why are you wearing those chappals?’ I would say ‘because you are short, I can’t wear heels’ so he burst out laughing and say ‘go and wear heels. I’ll manage my height, you manage yours’. So I thought that was very progressive. It is something about Salman I have always enjoyed and loved.”

Sushmita Sen had more stories in her arsenal to share about Salman Khan’s jocular nature, “When David would say on the sets of Biwi No 1 that ‘Sush, don’t wear heels’, I would come in flats like okay, no problem. It is something about Salman I have always enjoyed and loved,” she added.

Biwi No. 1 achieved significant success at the box office, grossing Rs 49.85 crore and securing the second-highest grosser position for the year. Its performance was somewhat affected by coinciding with the Cricket World Cup 99, leading trade pundits to speculate that the film could have earned even more if not for the tournament’s concurrent scheduling.
