“It is important to highlight that in last eight years not even an inch of our land captured by anyone,” the BJP said hitting out at Rahul Gandhi personally.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday slammed the comments made by Rahul Gandhi where he alleged that India is ignoring the threat of war from China. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also pointed at Parliament data dating back to 1963 to prove Congress’ role in the border row with China.

“Even as Rahul Gandhi continues to make statements to discourage the army, I would like to showcase evidence that dates back to 1963. Proceedings from the Parliament session from back then suggest that 38,0000 sq km of land was taken over by the Chinese in that very year all during the Congress rule,” Bhatia said alleging that the Congress has some ties with China.

“Congress never seems to bother condemning any act by China. It is clear who the traitors are. It is also important to note at this point that the Congress has not revealed in any public domain as to what was the exact pact done between them is,” Bhatia said.

The BJP spokesperson then drew a comparison using this 1963 data to suggest that nothing of this kind can be attributed to the ruling BJP government’s stint. “It is important to highlight that in last eight years not even an inch of our land captured by anyone,” the BJP said hitting out at Rahul Gandhi personally. “Don’t know why Rahul Gandhi is going about raising questions about the courage and valour of the Indian Army,” BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said.

The BJP spokesperson also piled several other allegations against the Congress and Rahul Gandhi in particular. “Whenever any country has shown the wrong intention in the context to our land borders, there is always the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi backstabbing us,” Bhatiya alleged adding that Congress did nothing to help boost infrastructure near the borders.

Several BJP leaders condemned Rahul Gandhi’s statement. BJP president JP Nadda said, “Rahul works to demoralize our Army; no matter how much it is condemned, it is less. Indian army is a symbol of bravery and valour. We know that the Communist Party of China had signed MoU with the Congress party.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Gandhi’s statement is “extremely indecent, childish, motivating anti-national elements and insulting to India and the brave Indian Army at the international level.”

Demanding an unconditional apology from Rahul Gandhi, Bhatia said, “while Rahul is busy chilling in his AC room at his home, our Prime Minister, our Raksha Mantri are busy encouraging our army.”

Rahul Gandhi had hit out at the ruling BJP government over the threat posed by China at the border. “China is preparing for war, not for an incursion. See their pattern of weapons. They are preparing for war. Our government is not accepting it. The government of India is working on events, not on strategy,” Gandhi had said alleging that “China has taken our land. They are beating out soldiers. The threat of China Is clear. And the government is hiding it, ignoring it..”
