Ajith Kumar is one of the acting stalwarts in Tamil cinema and has impressed fans with a long and illustrious acting career. He has entertained the audience over the years with films like Kadhal Kottai, Dheena, and others. But, he had to face his share of tough times as well. According to the reports, Ajith was bedridden for two years after he had shot for his first film Amaravathi, a Tamil romantic drama.

As per the reports, Ajith faced grave injuries during a car accident that impaired him physically for a long time. It was one of the most major setbacks for Ajith who had just embarked on his acting career in Tamil cinema. He reportedly became mentally disturbed and underwent three major surgeries but didn’t lose courage. He made a powerful comeback with the 1995 film Aasai. This film was a super hit at the box office and became one of the iconic movies of his career. It revolves around a young woman’s brother-in-law who is in love with her and tries his best to destroy her love affair with another young man. Will he succeed or not in this process forms the core theme of this film.

Actress Suvalakshmi, Prakash Raj, Rohini, Vadivelu, and others have also acted in this film.

There was no turning back for Ajith and he has acted in many hit films to date. He also had to face accidents during the shoots and underwent surgeries. He had suffered a minor accident while shooting for the writer and director, H Vinoth directed Valimai.

Ajith’s Orthopaedic surgeon Naresh Padmanabhan talked regarding this to The Indian Express. Naresh said,” People have just seen a shot of an actor falling in Valimai. But about four or five times he suffered from injuries while performing stunts on a bike. He wanted to convey a positive message through his films. It is that you can get up again even when you fall.”

Naresh also revealed that Kumar suffered many surgeries on his spine, shoulders and legs in the last 15 years for the injuries caused while performing the stunts.
