Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly getting a new feature for WhatsApp Business users. As per a report by WaBetaInfo, beta users of WhatsApp Business accounts are receiving a new shortcut for quickly replying to messages.
Available for both iOS and Android beta users, WhatsApp has added a new shortcut in the chat chare action menu. The new option can be seen along with camera, photo & video library, catalog and other options when a user taps on ‘+’ sign for iPhones and attachment sign for Android. This will allow WhatsApp Business beta users to quickly reply to messages.
Quick Reply feature is already available for WhatsApp Business accounts. It can be activated by pressing ‘/’ on the keyboard. They can then select a message from the list to send to a customer. It was extended to WhatsApp web and desktop versions in early 2019.
The latest report cannot provide us with a reason as to why the new shortcut is being added . But probably the new shortcut will help more businesses know this feature, it says. The report could not provide any timeline as to when the feature will come out of beta and will be rolled out to end users.
